Feng Zhengjie
b. 1968
Feng Zhengjie lives and works in Beijing, China. Zhengjie’s style is reminiscent of Warhol’s screen printed celebrities, both reflecting and glorifying popular culture while simultaneously offering a social critique on the rampant consumerism of society. His exemplification of commodification, commercialization, and kitsch are illustrated through beautifully rendered, vibrantly colored women. The women project the idea of the femme fatale; alluring in their fantastical sex appeal but destructive and disposable with vacant eyes and mind numbingly empty stares.
